After you answer the poll, you should post suggestions on how we can make it better!

Fantastic site!
About 3 or 4 years ago I was on my way from Michigan to Wise Co., Va.... and made a wrong turn in Whitesburg. It was about 1 am in the morning and I didn't realize where I was headed. That was the darkest, longest ride I've ever had in my life! We were scared half to death all the way up the mountain. We finally saw a sign that said "Welcome to Kingdom Come" or something on that order and I made a joke about how far up in the clouds we must be! It was one scary ride all the way down. We finally ended up in Harlan and found a policeman to point us in the direction of Wise. After we described to my sister where we had been she thought we had been on Black Mountain. But from everything I've seen on this site we were on Pine Mountain because we went straight (well not quite straight LOL) from Whitesburg to Harlan.
I'd like to take the same ride one day in daylight!
Terrific site - very infromative! |

Thanks for the appreciation!
The mountains are quite beautiful, especially in the spring. Magnolia trees are now thick with sweet pink and white blooms and the hollows are budding up in a fuzzy pale green.
Keep tuned to the site for information about the Black Bear! |
