3D Pine Mountain Settlement School
"The Historic Mountain School"

A Perspective from the Northeast

Established on land provided by William Creech in 1913, Pine Mountain Settlement School offered early educational opportunities for mountain youth in the area. The School developed an experiential and hands-on cirriculum that continues to influence schools today. The School hosts a nationally recognized environmental educational program and is home to numerous annual festivals. Situated under the shadows of summit of Pine Mountain, the property boasts the largest Eastern Hemlock in Kentucky still alive.
